Anarkali suits are a rage and almost everyone is wearing it. Celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Kareena , Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra have set the red carpets ablaze with their fabulous Anarkalis.We recently received a few queries from our brides regarding selecting and wearing the right Anarkalis based on one’s complexion or skin tone as well as their body type. So we approached fashion designer Priyanka Singhal of Trims&Tassels , Meerut for some useful tips for brides-to-be which will help them in selecting the perfect Anarkalis.
· What is the best color or shade of Anarkali suits for darker skin tone?
I would suggest going in for warmer shades, pastels or even bright colors. Warmer colors will help bring out the skin tone and flatter it. Dark skinned brides can also pull off the white Anarkali suits rather well. Pair up white with colors from the orange or pink families to make the shades pop! Steer clear of browns, blacks, blues, grays and silver. Colors that are too close to the skin tone make for an unflattering look. Neons are quite popular today and can also be made a part of one’s trousseau.

· I am short and petite. What kind of anarkali should I go in for?
Brides with a petite body type should carefully choose their Anarkali in that; I would recommend ones in single color (or at the most two colors), moderate flare and a Kurta that preferably ends over the knees. In fact; the high-waist Anarkalis are quite complimentary to the petite body type. A V-necked Anarkali is also ideal since it elongates the neck. Do not forget to wear platform wedges and heels with the chosen Anarkali suits.

· I am very tall, over 5’9”. What kind of Anarkali should I go in for?
The Anarakli was made for tall and leggy lasses. You have nothing to worry about! I would recommend wider legged Anarkalis and kurtas that hit the highest point of the waist. Go in for interesting necklines in the Anarkali suits tops to draw attention to the neck. Layered Anarkalis or ones with jackets and sheer sleeves are also perfect for taller brides. As far as colors are concerned, opt for bright splashes of colors along with oversized accessories.
