Sunaina Sharma of Memorable Indian Weddings describes a lavish Jaipur wedding for weddingsonline:
“Here was a princess who wanted to get married in regal style; and prince gifted her her heart’s desire:
” When we first met bride-to-be, Parnath, she seemed a very simple girl who had an eye for detail but was still willing to listen to all of our suggestions and recommendations! Parnath, her mom and grand mom were all really simple and down to earth people. They were planning to come down to India from the UK for the wedding. After a bit of consideration and brainstorming, Jaipur was finalized as the destination with ‘The Mehndi’ at Khandela Haveli, the Wedding in Gurudwara and Reception at the majestic Taj Jai Mahal Palace.
After a lot of supplier research, we got them all in place and it was time for the show to begin.
On the very first day, just before The Mehndi, we planned for a couple shoot. As the groom, Sameer (or Sam, as he prefers it) wanted to visit a temple, we sent them off to Birla Mandir in Jaipur.
We had a beautiful Mehndi Evening at the equally beautiful Khandela Haveli in Jaipur. It’s a small haveli with 22 rooms and a beautiful courtyard. In the evenings, they organize roof top terrace dinner with puppet show and folk dances for the in-house guests. We had already done an event there earlier and it has always received rave reviews from our guests.
We kept the base simple with accents of pink and green for ambience. I shall let the pictures do the talking:
It was a Sikh Wedding, so early the next morning , we had a Gurudwara Wedding. As both, the bride and groom, were NRIs, it was a challenge for us to convince The Gurudwara to perform the wedding ceremony, but finally, after a few trips and formalities they were able to get the nod.
Soon it was time for the Reception Dinner at Taj Jai Mahal Palace Hotel. It is so beautiful by itself, that one need not do anything extra to spice up its ambience. That’s actually true for all the heritage hotels or forts or havelis in the Pink City. Some only just need a touch up. Overdoing actually takes away the whole purpose behind having a royal palace wedding.
Thus, the prince gifted his princess the most perfect royal wedding of her dreams in Jaipur, the city of love” .
