The couple officially got engaged just the day before wedding but had known each other since the past one year.
Kavita and Himanshu wanted a small, private wedding since their main aim was to have a ceremony that would feel personal for them as well as their guests.
Says Kavita : “ A small wedding made me feel rather comfortable and relaxed, since I was surrounded mainly by close friends and family members. Thus, my wedding felt like a close-knit celebration rather than a big production that many couples choose to have nowadays. While one of the aims was to save money, I was able to splurge on other aspects like my wedding sari which was a grand, authentic Paithani from Shagoon in West Dadar, Mumbai. I really loved its pastel shade and I believe the colours matched rather well with my purple ‘shela’ (the silk shawl-like garment that is draped around the shoulders by Maharashtrian brides)”.
The groom’s outfit was from Suvidha Fashion store in Dadar and the bride shopped for her wedding Jewellery from Pooja jewelers in Dombivli.
A small wedding also left the hosts with larger number of choices for their wedding venue. They chose the Hotel Parle International at Vile Parle, Mumbai, which is one of the top 3-star rated hotels close to the domestic airport as well as the commercial districts like Bandra-Kurla complex, Goregaon and Juhu Beach areas.
The best part of the photo shoot, according to Kunjan Detroja their wedding photographer: “Kavita herself is an ace photographer. So it was indeed an honour when she asked me to cover her wedding. She is very photogenic, so I thoroughly enjoyed taking the candid shots”. Kunjan also loves intimate weddings due to their simplicity and the fact that there is greater stress on the traditional rituals.
