Carefully crafted sweetheart blouses, lehengas without too much embroidery or flamboyance and layered wedding wear in orange, red and white emerged onto the runway.

Gauri and Nainika’s Collection was bold and made a style statement rather than following convention. The designer duo mainly used white, black and red neoprene fabrics which really stood above the rest.

Taurn Tahiliani-who is a designer with a personality, delivered practically wearable ensembles for modern brides to be. He utilized fit-and-flare silhouettes which made his line sophisticated, elegant and definitely romantic.

And things do not get more elegant than Raghvendra Rathore’s quintessential bridal collection. His showstoppers were none other than the beautiful Aditi Rao Hydarai and Ali Fazal. While we are not too fond of the pink Achkan worn by Fazal, we loved Aditi’s white zardosi sari and long sleeved blouse.

Of special mention were the ramp decor and the music used. For Raghvendra’s collection, models sashayed to western music while the ramp was decorated like an old glass house.

Other notable designers who displayed their collections included JJ Valaya (who was chosen to close the show), Suneet Verma, Ashima Leena, Meera Muzzafar Ali and Falguni and Shane Peacock.
