Practice makes perfect and after applying your own makeup during a few sessions, you’ll feel so much more confident about getting the complete look right on D-day. We suggest trying a makeup style while wearing your wedding gown, saree or any other ensemble you will be dressed in, on your wedding day. This way your DIY bridal makeup will complement your clothes and hairstyle without looking gaudy and if necessary, you will even have plenty of time to change the colour of your lipstick or eye shadow before the final day, as well.

Keep the weather and time of day in mind. You may have heard plenty of horror stories about brides who have been photographed with eye makeup running down or with powder blotches on their faces. The weather does play a big role in determining how long your DIY bridal makeup will last and remember that wearing light makeup is considered elegant for both morning and afternoon ceremonies, although heavier makeup looks fine for ceremonies held in the evening and later.

Have a small makeup pouch ready for use in case of emergencies. You never know when you will need to dash off to the bathroom for a quick lipstick re-touch or to powder your face. Ask one of your bridesmaids to carry your pouch for you, so that you don’t have to stress about the way you look, during your ceremony.
