If you have been to weddings and wedding parties, you already know a hundred things that you have either liked or disliked at those events. Now, if you are going to play the role of a bride/groom soon, you need to be aware of the things which could enrage your wedding guests. If you have already learned from others’ mistakes, memorize the list once again with us. If you haven’t been to weddings or have not paid much attention to the mistakes, we are here to point them out.

Here are the 13 surefire ways you could enrage your wedding guests –

1. Setting an inconvenient wedding date

Remember how much you used to hate missing those weddings which used to fall during your final exams? Do not make your guests go through the same emotions by going for an inconvenient wedding date.

2. Having an outdoor wedding in winter

Maybe, you and your groom love adventures, snow-treks etc. But, the idea of an outdoor wedding during winter may not be equally appreciated by your guests. Worst if it’s a destination wedding up in the hills.

3. Using a non-AC venue for a summer wedding

A closed, non-AC wedding hall where the flames and fumes of yajna (the ritual of fire) could barbecue the guests? Definitely, a strict No!

4. Not having someone to welcome the guests at the entrance

Imagine entering a wedding venue having no one to welcome you! Most guests consider this an insult.

5. Inconvenient sitting arrangements

The last thing your guests would want is to stand all the time throughout the wedding. Think about the condition of the elderly guests. Little or no seating arrangements, both can enrage your guests.

6. Loud music

We aren’t recommending playing traditional Indian music throughout the day. But playing loud, noisy music is not be the wisest decision either.

7. Not having enough food

The last thing you’d want is to keep your wedding guests starving or having to visit a list of the nearby restaurants that remain open till midnight.

8. Not paying attention to dietary considerations

These days, many guests follow strict vegetarianism or some might have allergies or certain food preferences. While you cannot please them all, it is wise to include a bit of everything and also make sure that Non veg and veg food stations are properly segregated.

9. Not having enough variety in beverages

Though this may not be applicable for every wedding, but, these days, guests look forward to enjoy a couple of drinks at the wedding parties. A lack of which can become a cause of disappointment.

10. Being the haughty bride/groom

Would you like to go to a wedding party where the bride or the groom fail to recognize you or do not introduce you to their better half? Or simply act all high and mighty? Strict no-no!

Examples include: a surprise dress code or a bizarre theme or an exotic menu or anything which your guests are not much accustomed with.

13. Mismanagement

Last but not least, mismanagement in a wedding can be a definite letdown for your guests. Mismanagement in wedding planning, food, venue, transportation etc can be annoying to the guests.
