5 of Rani’s Best Bridal Looks from Movies

By  |

We have discussed the best bridal looks of the top Bollywood actresses from Aishwarya, Kareena to Katrina. Next in this series comes the Queen of tinsel town, our very own Rani Mukerji who has won our hearts as much with her brilliant acting prowess as with her down to earth girl-next-door looks. In the span of her acting career, this dusky beauty has never failed to amaze the audiences with her stunning performance in films such as Black, Talaash, Mardaani etc. We became equally enthralled with her beauty every time she appeared in bridal attire. Here is a quick rundown at the top 5 Rani’s best bridal looks from movies-

1. Baabul

This must be, so far, Rani’s best bridal look from movies. This unusual colour of bridal wear could not have gone better on any other Bollywood actress than Rani Mukherji. Portraying the role of a simple Indian girl whose life went through social and emotional turmoils after being widowed, here, Rani looks like a pensive bride, lost in her thoughts. There is something unique about this bridal look. The saree has heavily embroidered brodered. The heavy kundan jewelleries are also exquisitely designed with a very distinct Rajasthani touch in them. The kohl-ed smoky eyes reflect the thoughtfulness of the bride who is going through a lot of change.

2. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

This classic bridal look from the Karan Johar blockbuster Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna won accolades from fans for its traditional essence. This red Manish Malhotra ensemble was adorned with impeccable embroidery work. The choli, ghagra and dupatta, all the three pieces were superbly designed making Rani looked like a quintessential Bollywood bride. To balance the heavy work, she wore minimal makeup and jewellery.

3. Baabul (Again)

Yes, as the subject required her to don the bridal wear twice, Rani mesmerized the audience once again with her new bridal avatar. This time she looked like a disturbed bride who was yet to be sure about her decision of remarriage. While her eyes may give out the inner turmoil, we loved every bit of the bridal look she portrayed. It was all red and golden. The saree, the dupatta and the jewelleries, these two colours dominated her look this time.

4. Paheli

Though the film was India’s entry to the Oscars, the Indian audience seemed to have not liked it much. Anyway, the Rajasthani look of Rani became quite a hit. Here we can see Rani in this ethnic Rajasthani get-up. Playing a traditional Marwa bride, she wears the ethnic bandhni printed bridal wear with a Rajasthani maang-tika or borla. A red bindi on the forehead complemented her smoky eyes.

5. Bridal Ad

Though this is not from any movie, but the queen of Bollywood looked really charming in this bridal avatar from a photo op. With the yellow and red embroidered Kanjivaram, red blouse and red bindi, Rani looked like an innocent bride.
