8 Innerwear Solutions for Off-the-shoulder Dresses

You have to keep up with the fashion storm which takes a new turn every season. The current fashion wind is strongly blowing towards the off-shoulder trend. A bride to be needs to look her best for those prewedding and post wedding ceremonies and functions; so why not go in for off-the-shoulder dresses? These summery beauties give one a bohemian look and they usually come in a crop top style or a flowing bodice with a plunging back. Finding the perfect innerwear to pair with these dresses can be a little tricky, but, not when we are there to guide you in your quest for the right choice.

1. Strapless bra

It’s a no-brainer and the obvious first pick to go with an off-shoulder dress or a top. If you feel that the drawback of these strapless bras is a lot of adjusting, prodding and readjusting to keep them from slipping off then there is a solution for that too.  Simply go a cup size bigger and a band size smaller to keep the strapless bras from slipping. Also make sure you check for inner silicon lining that holds the bra and prevents it from falling every now and then, so that you can dance all night long without worrying. In case you are petite sized, this problem wouldn’t bug you as much as it would bother a regular or plus size girl.

2. Stick-on bra

This one comes to the aid of women when they don’t want that extra sense of security. This strapless bra has a sticky adhesive in its cups, which is completely safe for the skin and helps the cups in latching to the skin securely. These bras are suitable for plunging back tops and dresses.

3. Corset

Known for its figure hugging feature since the Victorian era, a corset bra is best fit to be worn  under an off shoulder dress. Not only does it serve the purpose of a bra but it also acts as a body shaper for your torso, giving you an hourglass silhouette. Get that desired retro or classic figure in an instant with a corset under your strapless dress.

4. Nip Covers

Giving you the option of going almost full Monty, these covers stick to the skin and protect one’s modesty. Freedom from straps, liberation from cups and an airy feeling all day is what you get with these pasties underneath.

5. Bandeau / Tube bra

Worn like a tube across your breasts, these bras come in both padded and non-padded style. The chances of them slipping down are lower than that of a strapless bra as the elastic fabric makes the bra fit onto your body snugly. A bandeau bra doesn’t boost up the chest to enhance the cleavage like a strapless balconette or a push-up bra for instance. Instead, it tones and straps the chest down.  These bras are a good pick for an off shoulder tank top, but definitely not recommended for women blessed with larger cup sizes.

6. Cage Bra

Cage bras are meant to be flaunted. Why else would someone go to the lengths of making them so pretty? The intricate stringy design at the back or front instantly gives your dressing style big thumbs up. This bra doesn’t pull your look down but makes the world know that you have the confidence to flaunt your style.

7. Double Strap bra

There were days when a bra strap showing was a complete no-no and then there is now when you can flaunt your chic double strap bra with grace.  It has now become a part of your attire. You don’t even need to wear a red strap with a red dress to match them. Go a little whacky and add some colors to your dress with say neon colored strap.

8. Tapes

This is a sort of magic invention for all us ladies out there! This tape, when used deftly, can give a lift to sagging chest and can keep things from bouncing around even when you go bra-less. Even if you are wearing a strapless, stick on bra, or nip covers, you can use this breast tape for an added support and protective measure against a wardrobe malfunction.
