Anam And Tohid-A Beautiful Wedding Planned By The Bride!

By  |

We love it when brides go the DIY route. Bride Anam says she got tons of inspiration for planning her big day from weddingsonline India’s Instagram Page. We sure love to hear things like that!! Thank you Anam for your kind words and here’s wishing you a very happy married life ahead!

Bride and Groom

Anam Sohail and Tohid Shaikh

Wedding Date

We got married in November 2017 in Mumbai.

We Met

Tohid & I are like north and south poles, literally. We met each other through a mutual friend who happens to be my best friend. Being a shy and reserved person, I never thought I would fall for a guy who is un-apologetically loud, insanely humorous and totally high on life! Both of us moved to the UAE in 2014. I moved with my family, whereas he moved there for me, so that we didn’t have to face long distance! 🙂 After 5 years of sneaked-out dates, crappy jokes, silly fights, cuddly hugs and ever-growing love, we got married to each other!

We had 5 events spread over a week following Islamic traditions: Sangeet, Haldi, Mehndi, Nikaah (Wedding) & Walima (Reception).

Unique Features

While it’s difficult to be absolutely unique in wedding planning these days, some ideas that I enjoyed picking up from wedding portals like yours!
1) The invitation cards were in sync with the floral themed decoration for wedding.
2) I wore my Adidas shoes at Sangeet.
3) I wore my Mom’s wedding dupatta (the red old styled) for my Nikaah.
4) I made the bridesmaids’ cards and curated the boxes myself.
5) I walked down the aisle with my youngest cousin brother (the cutest bridesman)
6) Our friends got sky lanterns for everyone to celebrate love.
7) We made an exit amidst sparklers, instead of entry.

Congratulations to the beautiful couple! We wish them a very happy life ahead! Want to submit your professionally shot pre-wedding/wedding/engagement/honeymoon pictures/videos to us for publication? Simply email us the details at [email protected]! Get details here.
