Here are the steps:

  1. Once a week oiling

Oiling the hair is an age old remedy that can help counter many kinds of hair problems. You could use any oil you like: almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, sesame oil or argan oil. These days, many products are available combining several hair-friendly ingredients in a single product. You can even make your own special oil blend at home. Here are some examples: Heat up some coconut oil and add fresh or dried hibiscus flowers and leaves. Boil this mixture until it turns dark and then cool and strain it. Use the oil to massage your hair once a week. This is an excellent remedy to prevent premature greying of hair. You can even boil coconut oil with some camphor to reduce dandruff and flaking. Arnica hair oil is another great remedy to treat and prevent hair fall. Whatever oil you choose, make sure you follow this routine regularly in order to see positive results.

  1. Hair packs

Hair packs are readily available in the market these days and most of them help target specific hair issues including dry hair, hair fall, dandruff etc. You can even make your own homemade hair packs: Egg yolk, Mehendi powder and curd is a great pack which can condition dry hair while imparting it a great colour. Curd and honey based hair mask can help prevent hair fall and also make the hair shiny and smooth.

  1. Shampoo and conditioner

It is best to use good quality sulphate-free or herbal shampoos for restoring the health of hair. You could also use anti dandruff shampoos or specific products for colour treated hair. In case of dry hair, apply a deep conditioning hair mask once a week. Alternatively, oil your hair for at least 15 minutes prior to shampooing. This will prevent excess drying of hair as shampoos tend to strip hair off its natural oils.  As a final rinse, add some vinegar or lemon juice to the bath water before rinsing. This can help maintain the shine of the hair. For very dry and frizzy hair, apply a smoothing serum after the hair has dried. Avoid using excessive heat as this can damage the hair shaft.

  1. Diet

Strong and shiny hair always comes from a good diet. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as well as nuts and seeds. Take a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement if needed. Eat plenty of fish or take a fish oil capsule. Drink tons of water and make sure you follow a good exercise routine to keep stress at bay.

  1. Stress busting techniques

One might not think much of it, but stress can greatly affect the health of the hair. So if you think that your pre-wedding jitters might be responsible for excessive hair loss, do follow stress busting techniques such as yoga, deep breathing and/or meditation etc. When practiced regularly, these mind-body techniques can help reduce stress and improve overall health and well-being.

Follow these tips and steps for at least 6 months and you will surely see fantastic results in time for the wedding.
