Sarah Feyling is the Founder and Director of Couture. A pioneer in her field as a leading wedding planner in the Middle East, Sarah established the Couture business in 2004 to deliver bespoke events which are individually tailored to meet each client’s requirements. From baby showers to birthdays, weddings to corporate events, award-winning Sarah and her team have a unique reputation for flawless execution of premium events for politicians, high-profile local families and celebrities alike. Counting global conglomerates among her clients, Sarah works with carefully selected international partners to expand her business and raise the bar for her clients. Sarah is a keen collector of art and resides on the palm. In a tete-a-tete with WOL, Sarah discusses her business philosophy as well as the recent wedding planning conference held in Greece.
- Tell us a bit about your company Couture Events. When was it established?
Established in Dubai in 2004, Couture delivers bespoke events, uniquely tailored to each client’s requirements. We plan every detail, from an individualized concept to a flawless execution. We work around the clock with complete flexibility and undivided attention to detail to design unique events. We are connected to a global network of partners who can meet every budget. Our clients include beautiful brides, meeting planners, hotel groups, travel agencies, incentive houses, tour operators, international corporations and individuals all looking for the perfect event. We have a young, dynamic and passionate team who will work to your brief from the outset and be on site for your event.
- Let us talk about the wedding planners’ conference in Greece. How did that go? What are some of the emerging wedding trends seen at the event?
It was an incredible experience and a very beneficial conference in terms of understanding the worldwide wedding industry and how the market changes between continents. It was a melting pot of global wedding ideas and an inspiring platform for those wishing to expand globally. For already established international planners I think it gave a better insight into the expectations of couples from the four corners of the globe.
· How did you personally benefit from the conference’s outcome?
I think that any planner and supplier attending this will come away with a broader knowledge and more dynamic outlook. Regardless of experience it was a learning experience for everyone in the room.
· Describe your wedding planning style. How do you approach every wedding?
We chose the name Couture because we wanted to offer a one off bespoke service to our clients. We approach each wedding with the individuality it deserves. Our services are tailored to suit our client’s individual needs. We listen very carefully to the clients individual needs and then customise our services to meet those needs.
· What is your favourite wedding venue/location in Dubai?
There are several exceptional venues in Dubai each one offering something unique. Some venues have exceptional outdoor spaces; some have rare palatial ballrooms while others have an distinctive features that cannot be rivalled. There are many unique venues in Dubai from 7 star hotels to magical desert retreats. There really is something to suit everyones taste.
· What is the most exciting project you have undertaken?
I have been fortunate enough to work on many great projects. There have been many milestones celebrated over the last ten years. At the moment our global expansion has been very exciting and this year we executed events in Shanghai and Geneva and in 2015 we will also go to Las Vegas. So working internationally has been both exciting and challenging and we look forward to increasing our overseas presence.
