Tips to Prepare For The Big Day On The Eve Of The Wedding!

By  |

It is the night of a little bit of anxiety mixed with lots of excitement, bursts of mixed emotions, apprehension and that ‘butterflies-in-the-stomach’ feeling. It is the night before your wedding day! Your last night as a bachelor/bachelorette, as a free bird. Tomorrow brings a new life for you. As the dawn breaks, you will embark on a new journey leaving so many things behind while stepping into a life full of promises, happiness, and togetherness. While it is pretty normal to get carried away by emotions, there are a few important matters you must not ignore on your wedding eve. Do not worry if you find yourself a little lost-simply jot down these pointers and tips to prepare for the big day on your wedding eve:

1. Spend time with your family

Today is an emotional day for your parents and close family members as well. Amidst all last minute rush, they are trying to spend as much time with you as possible. So do try to take some time out from your last minute trials and spend quality time with your family. Make sure you dine together.

2. Wash your hair

Your stylist might have given you instructions already-if not, it is best to wash your tresses on the eve of the wedding. Remember that you will mostly be busy throughout the day-so use the quiet time to wash your hair in the evening or at night.

3. All those last minute beauty preparations

Brides: get your manicure and pedicure done the evening before the wedding. This can be the perfect time to spend some time alone, pause and reflect on those fleeting thoughts while enjoying all the attention and pampering being showered on you.

4. Keep your emergency kit ready

Make a list of all the wedding day essential items such as safety pins, bobby pins, tissue papers, mobile phone charger, deodorant, band-aids, lip balm, facial wipes, touch-up makeup kit etc.

5. Chat with your friends

The best way to de-stress the night before the wedding is catching up with your BFFs and having random chats with them. If your house is too crowded, choose a place outside to meet up. It can be another friend’s house or a cafe or a park.

6. Set the alarm

Obvious as it may seem, but do not forget to set your alarm. In all probability, the pre-wedding jitters, nervousness, anxiety will kill the sleep no matter how much physically exhausted you are, making you fall asleep in the wee hours.

7. Resist the urge to video chat with your SO

And, if possible, put a self-imposed ban on any mode of communication till you two come face to face right before the wedding.

8. Write a love letter/note

But as there might be a strong urge to share your thoughts and feelings with your SO, why not write him a quick love note, or an elaborate love letter? Perfect idea for a wedding gift!

9. Disconnect

And as you snuggle in your bed, disconnect from the world. Give your devices to a friend while you enjoy some me-time, alone.

10. Sleep

Once you are done with your thoughts and tides of emotions, it’s time to catch some sleep. As much as possible. Tomorrow is the big day and you will need a lot of energy to make it through.
