Although, an indoor location wins hands down, not all couples actually relish the idea of getting married indoors especially when such romantic monsoon weather beckons one to come outside and enjoy the rains. Try to choose a venue which is a short distance away from where you stay, if possible. Having to travel for a short while to get to the venue means that you face a lower risk of getting wet from the rains. Moreover, even if there is a need to change your clothes or to deal with a sudden emergency, you don’t have to stress about anything at all.
Avoid going for a venue that is fully exposed to the elements. A combination of outdoor and indoor space or even makeshift arrangements that can keep your guests dry is important. Assuming that you will have live music, a band or a DJ console, it’s important to ensure that all the hired equipment isn’t exposed to the rain or it you’ll be handed a hefty bill to pay!
If your guests have travelled a long way to be with you on your special day, then it’s important to keep a few towels and a few sets of spare clothes handy just in case you need them. If the reception area is a short distance away from the monsoon wedding venue, then it’s important to either arrange the required transportation or to provide the guests with protective gear such as raincoats, umbrellas and anything else that could help them stay dry.
