Pantone Spring Colour Palettes- Part 3

By  |

We bet that you will love today’s article on Pantone’s Spring shades because the three colours that are highlighted here today will look gorgeous on Indian skin tones. Most importantly, these three shades can be dressed up or dressed down depending on one’s preferences. We think that using any of these three shades in your bridal wardrobe with plenty of rich Indian embroidery, is certain to set you a class apart:

Custard: The year 2014 belonged to a sunny sunflower like shade called Freesia Yellow which was bright and cheerful, but maybe a tad too vivacious for some. This year, however, Pantone has taken the humble custard pudding from the kitchen and has declared it to be one of Spring’s must-have shades. Yellow as a colour we admit isn’t to everyone’s liking but although custard isn’t as bright as Freesia Yellow, one can’t deny that it is feminine, mellow and yet has a strong feel-good factor about it as well. Which is just as good, because custard coloured bridal wear can be made much brighter when paired with Classic Blue, Royal Purple or even Scuba Blue. Although, if you prefer a more toned down look, it will go just as well with Coffee Brown or Grey.

Marsala: We are quite certain that by now more than 500 articles would have been written on this gorgeous colour already, but in case you haven’t heard about Marsala as yet, suffice to say that this killer shade has already been vote Pantone’s Colour of the Year. And with good reason. One look at this enticing Spring shade and one realises that it’s not that easy to pin-point it’s actual colour. Is it red or is it brown? Some like to say that this sensuous shade is a mix of both red and brown which immediately puts it on the list of those select few colour palettes which suit any skin tone. Wear it as a lipstick, in a printed scarf or hold a marsala clutch- there are so many ways to incorporate this shade in your daily wear. For brides, we say that your colour options are simply endless. Check out our Marsala exclusive article here.

glacier-graygray-weddings

Glacier Gray: The very name is suggestive of a shade that would have looked better in a Winter collection than in a Spring one, but we think that this shade would look superb on your bridegroom and on other make relatives. Imagine your partner in a Glacier Gray sherwani with minimal embroidery and a rich marsala dupatta for an eye-catching contrast. Wouldn’t he look simply dashing? The ability of grey as a shade to blend effortlessly with other bright hues is exactly why it has been highlighted as one of Pantone’s Spring colours. It’s more of a bridegroom’s colour than a bride’s but it definitely provides an interesting contrast to standard bridal shades like midnight blue, bottle green, magenta and red.

We hope to see you here next week as we share more bridal ideas using Pantone’s colour palettes with you.
