Discover some sweet little details of their love story which started in a parking lot!

Bride and Groom

Pritha Sood and Anshul Aswani

We Met

Our love story started in a PARKING LOT! We were just friends or rather acquaintances on Facebook since we were in same college and then later we started working in the same company. We had some mutual friends but we never really talked to each other, until we bumped into each other in the cafeteria during some work related training. Thereafter, he messaged me on Facebook asking to meet up, but I wasn’t really interested and mentioned that I had a hectic schedule ahead. However, after much persuasion, I agreed to meet up for 10-15 mins in the parking lot outside the workplace and that’s where our love story began…

Our Proposal

After dating each other for 7 years, we finally decided to spend the rest of our lives together and the interesting bit is that there was no formal proposal. However, during our wedding shoot after the Pheras, our photographer asked us about our proposal, Anshul went down on his knees and proposed in the most romantic manner.

Our Ceremony and Venue

In terms of our wedding, we always wanted an intimate yet elegant wedding surrounded by the people we love, who have been an integral part of our lives. After scanning and researching a lot of places, the beautiful vineyards of Sula in Nashik caught our attention. I have to say that it was love at first sight with Sula Vineyards. We were mesmerized as soon as we visited this place- lush green beauty complete with gorgeous rooms and tree houses. We were sure that this was the place for our big day with some fine wine and lots of grape stomping (literally)!

Our Planner and Photographer

We live in Dubai and it was extremely difficult for us to arrange everything and then we came across Abhilasha Lonari of Weddings by Abhilasha, whose expertise lies in organizing Vineyard Weddings. Everything else fell in place thereafter and our photographer, Shutter Down, captured each and every moment in the most beautiful way, just the way we wanted.

Events

Mehendi Carnival by the poolside

We wanted a wedding function, which would encourage guests to put on their creative hats and  dress up in the most innovative & fun outfits. So, we decided on fusion ‘Indo Western’ theme which combined the traditional mehendi celebration with Nashik Dhol by the poolside and splash of vibrant colors. Getting married in a vineyard is obviously incomplete without actually getting involved in the process of some fine wine making, which is Grape stomping. It just escalated the fun to an entire new level with all the crazy dancing, jumping & stomping. We also created our little ‘Pandora of Wishes’ and urged guests to leave some precious notes, wishes or thoughts for us that we can treasure forever. In a nutshell, it was more like a fest filled with vivacious moments that concluded with the ultimate jump in the pool by all the guests.

Outfits:

My outfit: I opted for a crop top with tassels on one sleeve & cold shouldered long flowing cape sleeve on the other side & paired it with an elegant dhoti skirt. It was very well designed & crafted by Aakarshan by Aanchal Jaggi

Anshul’s outfit: Open jacket in vibrant orange color paired with off white trousers & kurta underneath with the most splendid fit given by S Shomme.

Engagement & Cocktail Evening

Wedding celebrations are incomplete if we don’t encourage the guests to experiment & flaunt different types of outfits in every function. This evening was all about ‘Glitz & Glam’ in red carpet style, where nobody looked less than a celebrity in their ‘Gowns or Tuxedos’ and these celebrities were welcomed in style with paparazzi clicks standing against a black & white backdrop with our wedding logo & names written all over. Elegance continued with us exchanging the wedding rings, along with some bubbles by popping the bottle of champagne. It was a glorious evening filled with lots of wine, dine & dance.

Outfits

My outfit: Midnight blue princess gown with embroidered Swarovski crystals from Mynamour

Haldi

We decided to colour the entire function in shades of yellow and that was the dress code / theme of this particular function. My Haldi was organised outdoors in the courtyard with vintage & pastel décor, whereas Anshul’s Haldi was indoors with the same theme of ‘Shades of Yellow’.

My outfit: Lehenga Saree from Aakarshan By AJ

Pheras

Amphitheatre at the Sula Vineyards was our venue for Pheras with the décor of gold & red. In terms of seating there were sofas & gazebos around & mandap was set up with a big Ganapati statue on the amphitheatre. In terms of my bridal entry, I decided to walk down the aisle with my dad under ‘phoolon ki chaadar’, which was made with fresh red roses & kaleeras. Entire setting & function was very traditional, exactly the way we wanted it to be.

My outfit: Kamal Bhai- Chandni Chowk Delhi.
