We are back with more information on the latest wedding trends that are slowly doing the rounds. Here goes:

Long is the New Round: There was something very comforting about having a wedding buffet- the hosts did not have to bother about serving guests individually and also did not have to worry about huge food wastage. However, as weddings make the gradual shift from being ostentatious displays to a ceremony that is full of meaning and to wedding meals that are more informal, buffets are slowly making their way out. This could be one reason why seating arrangements for guests have also changed from traditional round tables to long tables with a few small round ones thrown in. This actually enables better flow of conversation and allows people to face each other while eating and talking. Wedding planners and florists will now have better opportunity to create table centre masterpieces that stand apart.

Green is IN- No, we didn’t mean the colour although yes, different shades of green are the highlights in Pantone’s Spring Colour Palette. What we mean is that becoming environmentally conscious and making every effort to go green and reduce wastage is now a much appreciated wedding trend that can be seen across cities in India. Organic produce is no longer a fancy word and many caterers are now including dishes made with such locally sourced produce in their wedding menus as well. Wedding planners have also predicted that artificial flowers and green table runners are also going to used in plenty this year. Couples who prefer to only go with real flowers are likely to choose ones that can stay fresh for at least a few days instead of buying flowers that wilt within a day.

Open Venues- While we’re on the subject of going green, Indian newly-weds are also open to the idea of hosting their wedding and reception in the outdoors instead of traditionally sticking with a wedding hall. Most hotels have a deadline for parties and are expected to wind up the celebrations by a certain time. On the other hand, restaurants, club houses, private homes and others offer much more flexibility in terms of upfront advance payments, liquor and party timings. 2015 wedding trends are tilting towards parties that are full of life and one which allows guests to fully enjoy themselves and to relax. After all, a wedding is meant to be a celebration of togetherness isn’t it?
