No More Cake: Have you ever wondered what happens to the rest of the 3 tiered wedding cake after the groom and bride cut themselves a dainty almost invisible slice? It’s a question that guests often give some serious thought too. In most cases, a wedding cake is meant to be an ornate display of design and art and the more unusual the cake, the more number of guests are likely to appreciate it. That’s where no-fuss couples are drawing the line however. Some are either doing away with the idea of cutting a wedding cake at all or if they have to for tradition sake, they choose to cut a simple one minus all the fondant and expense. What they are willing to do however is to treat guests to individually served slices of pastry or cream cake in various shapes or even to sweeten the moment with an Indian dessert instead. The hunt for the best wedding cake alternatives is ON!

Choreography is In: Traditionally speaking, relatives of the bride and groom are expected to shake a leg on stage to a hit number and it is this practice of displaying one’s dance skills at the sangeet and at the reception which makes the whole ceremony so much fun. Earlier, relatives were content to break into a spontaneous dance and sway to loud cheers, but today families settle for nothing less than a professional choreographer. Relatives are willing to keep time aside to practice just so that they put on a good show on D-Day. In addition, newly-wed couples too are serious about spending time learning cool salsa moves with a professional so that their first dance together is nothing short of awesome. Making a grand entrance together and learning new moves that are guaranteed to wow seems to be a wedding trend on every couple’s list. We bet nobody’s complaining about burning calories the fun way!

Sexy Attire for The Boys: Once upon a time, weddings were all about what the bride wore, whether she sparkled in diamonds or in rubies and about who did her make-up. Today’s weddings are also about the groom looking stylish and let’s not forget about his entourage or the bridegrooms either. Wedding wear is no longer seen as an expense but rather as an investment. This could explain why purchasing new suede shoes, a jewelled brooch or two, visiting a top notch hair stylist a day before or trying out designer wedding wear is no longer frowned upon- rather, it is expected. It’s great to see that the guys are eager to wear and look their best too. After all, you never know who one might meet!
