Surreal & Me’, is a creative partnership between Ridhima Sekhri & Abimanyu Dahia. We aim to infuse the world of weddings with our own intimate, fresh & surreal perspective. We believe in “Capturing intricacies & intimacies that bind”, the minute details of rituals & traditions that tie the knot of marriage together. While weddings are becoming grander & more eventful we are looking to go back to the basics and capture the intimate details that bring together traditional weddings. The joyful moments that highlight the emotions & culture of the families & friends is what we wish to capture.
Ridhima has been a part of the photography world since 2012 since she graduated from London College of Fashion with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Photography. She has worked as a photographer across the broad spectrum of fashion, travel, food, lifestyle, music, portraits. She has been developing not just as a photographer but deeply explored creative direction in every project, helping the client realise their dream by interpreting each & every aspect visually: art direction, location, faces, props, frames, etc. She has also shot several fashion films for Indian brands which have involved doing the complete creative direction from the developing of moodboards, cinematography, till the final editing process. Besides this she has creatively directed, shot & edited travel films for travel agencies & short films for music festivals.
Abimanyu has been a part of the hospitality industry for the past 7 years & has always had a keen eye for details, be it remembering a customer’s favourite dish or capturing the a moody shot of a steaming hot cup of coffee on a cold winter evening. Pursuing photography as his passion & interest over many years, he has a magical way of capturing the most mundane & everyday situations, infusing them with depth & his own unique meaning. He specialises in capturing portraits, intricate detail shots, making the most of any given moment. He has worked in Mumbai in the advertisement industry working & assisting Mr Raj Kaushal on ad films for big brands, exposing him to an environment of quick captures & a professional yet creative work environment.

When I met Ridhima for the first time - I knew she was ideal for the photography of an intimate family function. Her positive demeanor and abundant energy helped her mingle with the family effortlessly. It didn’t feel like a stranger was doing the job. Hence the Candid Moments were captured and will stay with us for life.

I had liked Ridhima’s work even before I knew her. She was working closely with a friend when I saw what she does, and really liked her pictures and films.
We approached her for our engagement last year, and she took care of candid photography at the function. Her aesthetic was very much in alignment with ours, and we really liked what she delivered.
For our wedding in August 2019, we approached her to shoot our wedding film. I have always been a fan of her videography work.
Though she has recently, full-fledged taken on the wedding photography and videography service with her equally talented friend Abimanyu Dahia, you can’t tell they are new to this. Her experience shows in her work and speaks volumes about her talent.
Surreal & Me makes for an extremely chilled out and fun team to work with. They truly collaborate, love to think of fresh, new ideas and bring a lot of enthusiasm to the table. Most importantly, they are very open to feedback and receive it very well.
