By  |

Telugu bride Dr. Thapasya Thai wore such gorgeous outfits for her outdoor wedding that you will surely find each and every photo as mesmerizing as we did! Check out the stunning photographs captured by the team at Magic Elephants.

Couple

Thapasya Thai (an oral implantologist-please read her blog here) and Anand Ramesh.

We met

Our journey together started out as an acquaintance 7 years ago when we met at an IPL match. He is an engineer and I am a dentist and just like our professions, our interests and lifestyle too were totally different. But, as north and south poles, the attraction was almost immediate. The day we started talking to each other we knew we were destined for something special. Our friendship soon blossomed into love and there was no looking back ever since.
From being together in the same city to miles apart from each other, one thing we realized is that we both were thinking the same and could not imagine a life with anyone else.. So our love became a family affair next and we got our families together and decided to take it one step further. Getting engaged is the best that could ‘ve happened to us!

Our ceremony

We had 5 events totally which spanned across two days with unlimited fun activities.

Day 1

The ceremony kick-started early in the morning with mangalasnanam which is basically a ritual to pour holy water on the bride and groom. We then had sing-along karaoke along with poolside games like volleyball post breakfast.
For the second event (pellikuthuru) we had a dress code for men & women. Men wore white dhoti and women wore pink sarees. Our next event was the Mehendi ceremony which took place right by the pool. Family and friends enjoyed their time in getting their favorite designs ‘tattooed’ on their hands. The final event of day 1 was the sangeet where we had a lot of amazing performances by our family and friends followed by DJ.

Day 2

We had the wedding ceremony in the morning followed by a sumptuous lunch.

Bridal outfits

I wanted to wear something unique and did not want to repeat any of my looks again including my jewelry.
For the mangalasnanam, I wore white and light blue lehenga which I got it from a designer exhibition Bangalore and paired it up with pink floral jewelry that I ordered online on Instagram from Chandanichowk.

For the pellikuthuru, I wore a yellow saree with pearl satlada haar.
For the Mehendi, I wanted to keep things very simple and at the same time also wanted a unique look. So I chose a designer lehenga from Clove Bangalore and wore customized statement earrings with tinted colors .Sabyasachi brides are my inspiration behind this look. For the fourth event, Sangeet, I got a designer lehenga from Samyakk Clothing.
The last event was the muhurtham where I wore a red Kanchipuram saree with green blouse. I selected the design for my blouse from Pinterest and my tailor did an excellent job!

My husband matched all his outfits according to mine. We had a barath for bride and groom’s entry.  We had also arranged for dandiya for all the guests. The Dandiya team had specially come from Hyderabad. My entire wedding was planned and organized by my sister, mother and uncles.

Special moments of my wedding

I will definitely say that the Sangeet was the most special because we had spectacular live performances from friends and families and especially my husband dancing on the stage for the very first time in his life. It was indeed an unforgettable day!  Another special moment was a countdown done by family and friends for our nuptials which happened at 10:36 am.
