We met and our proposal…

It has always been said that having your best friend as your life partner is the greatest blessing one could have and we are that couple who are best friends first and partners later.

We met each other on the first day of our post-graduation classes and remembering that day still makes me laugh since my first comment after seeing his introduction was “I am not going to even talk to this guy for the entire post-grad” . In fact; I even tried to change my section as we both were allotted the same class.

But then Cupid had something else in mind, and we soon became friends. Since his name is Harshit and mine Garima, we were allotted consecutive roll numbers which made us interact more and more with each other.

Within 4month he confessed that he was in love with me, and in those four months, many of our friends could feel the love in the air except us idiots! Then almost after four years of a beautiful relationship, I got down to my knees and asked him to marry me! The answer was YES! It is a different matter altogether that it took us one and a half years more to make the two unfamiliar families get familiar with each other. But then, here we are as happily married couple!

Our wedding theme/colours…

For the Roka, I wore a blue and golden lehenga. For the engagement, I chose pink & maroon, for the Mata ki Chowki: red & golden. During the Mandap, I chose a tie-n-dye material with floral jewelry. For the sangeet, I went with maroon & cream, and for the mehndi: green. The Haldi – the obvious choice of yellow and finally for the reception: maroon and golden.

I did most of the shopping from Delhi and some lehengas were customized.

My hair and makeup…

His suit

Harshit did all of his shopping in Bhopal.

Our ceremony…

The festivities started with roka which had a blue theme, followed by the ring ceremony in a pink gown. We also had a singing-dancing sangeet with peacock decoration where I wore a cream-colored gown. This was followed by a mandap ceremony with everyone wearing matching attires. I also had a Mehendi and Haldi ceremony.

We chose our photographer because…

Sharad Gupta, from Face Digital Studio. He is one of the best in this line of work!

Our wedding caterers

Om caterers, Jabalpur

Our venue

Shahid Smarak, Jabalpur MP. It is a historical landmark of the city.

Our honeymoon

We went to Bali and Singapore. In Bali, we just relaxed and the natural beauty of the place helped us recuperate from all of the wedding stress. In Singapore, we enjoyed the amusement parks and other stuff the place has to offer.

My favourite part of the wedding day…

The bridal entry, when I entered the mandap and saw Harshit awaiting me.

My piece of advice for other brides…

Just live those moments and enjoy each one. This is your time and it will not come back ever again so just be grateful and live it!

Congratulations to the gorgeous couple. Wish to get featured? Send in your wedding photos and other details to dipa@weddingsonline.in!
