We are almost at the end of 2012, but we simply cannot get enough of mehendi. Our search led us, recently, to a talented Mehendi artist Bhavika. Here we shall present some of her creations and also show some celebrity Mehendi pictures. Bhavika has kindly allowed us to share her pictures with our readers. She specializes in Arabic Mehendi and also does traditional Indian style patterns as well as Mehendi Tattoos. Bhavika is based out of Ahmedabad, India and she does not just cover wedding mehendi ceremonies and bridal showers, but also helps women (and men) look their best for:
- Graduation parties
- Birthdays and sweet sixteen parties
- Diwali, Holi, Eid and other festive occasions
- Baby showers
- Cultural events
For more information and pictures of her intricate Mehendi designs, do visit Bhavika’s Facebook page.
Mehendi is not just red or dark brown . Today, mehendi artists use magenta, turquoise red and green colors to make their artwork match with the bridal dress. Sparkling and shimmering patterns can take the henna art to a whole new level. A traditional pattern can be upgraded and enhanced using stones, crystals, and other decorative stick ons.

Intricate flowers, circles and semi circles adorn this bride-to-be’s hands. Other popular motifs include shehenais, dholaks , elephants and kalash. It is also a common practice to include the name of the groom in the patterns. We think this bride’s hands are looking awesome, don’t you?
There are many brides who dislike Mehendi. They do not like the smell, nor do they have the time and patience to sit for the application process. Thankfully, temporary mehendi or designer mehendis can be created for such brides. These can be washed off once the ceremony is over! Brides can also take examples from celebs like Vidya Balan(congrats to her, she got married recently), by opting for simple Mehendi.
