We at weddingsOnlineIndia love fusion weddings. Naturally, we were delighted to receive this beautiful temple-church Indian wedding sent in by Arvind Shenoy.
Read the delightful story behind Nishita and Rahul’s orange-white themed temple wedding followed by an elegant Church wedding in St. Patrick’s Church, Bangalore.
Bride & Groom: Nishita Tambakad and Rahul Fernandes- both lawyers working in Mangalore.
Their story: Nishita has travelled extensively for education and work. When in Mangalore, she made a lot of friends, Rahul being one of them. Nishita believes that happiness is a choice and she chooses to surround herself with the people and things that make her the happiest in life. She loves animals and has two little pugs, June and Caesar. Rahul , contrary to his legal background, is a ‘fun loving dude’ who loves playing and watching cricket.
Engagement date and venue: 23rd February, 2013 Jungle Lodges & Resorts, Dubare, Coorg
Temple wedding: The temple wedding took place on the 20th October, 2013 at the Bhoganandishwara Temple, Nandi Hills, Bangalore. The couple chose this 1000 year old Shiva-Parvati temple because of the fact that it was a perfect weekend getaway for their guests amidst the beautiful backdrop of pristine hills and forests, including the historic fort built by Tipu Sultan. Additionally, they thought this a romantic place to tie the knot in, since the temple itself is highly symbolic of the union between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as depicted by their many wedding scenes on the Uma-Maheshwara temple.
The Church wedding– The couple also had an elegant Church wedding the next day at the St. Patrick’s Church in Bangalore. This was followed by a reception ceremony at the Bangalore Palace on the same day.

About Arvind:
Arvind believes that wedding photography is not a mere service but an “artistic investment”. An engineer turned photographer, Arvind has been shooting weddings for the last eight years all across India. His punchline reads “Artistic Investments for a Lifetime” and he swears by every word of it. “Photographs freeze moments to eternity and they become timeless wonders. When one looks at these pictures years later, it is these that bring back fond memories”, he says. He believes that every wedding photograph needs that special touch to make it look magical and hence he shoots only eleven weddings a year, giving each wedding its due.
