Red-Orange-Yellow : A Warm Colour Palette

By  |

The Indian festive season is almost upon us, while the wedding season is already in full swing. Come Dusshera and the markets are flooded with orange and yellow marigolds. Hence, we thought that a wedding colour palette in orange, red and yellow would be perfect for our soon-to-be brides and their families. Additionally, the weather is also slightly chilly, so these warm colours are perfect for warming things up a bit.

Traditionally, red has a great deal of significance in Indian weddings. Red denotes beauty, strength, love and courage. Red is also the colour of associated with Goddess Laxmi, the deity of beauty and wealth. Wearing red wedding attire also symbolizes the beginning of a new phase that will be filled with wealth and fertility. Yellow, on the other hand, has been associated with a good harvest, since wheat and mustard fields in the Northern parts of India have this colour. Similarly, Orange denotes spirituality, faith and purity.

We love how Asiel design studios has incorporated this theme in Shalini’s wedding held at Hayes mansion in San Jose, California.

Our soon-to-be brides can definitely seek inspiration from this theme. Here are the pictures, courtesy http://www.asieldesign.com/.
