The most famous tourist attractions in Kashmir are Srinagar, Pahalgam, gulmarg and Sonamarg. The best time to visit Kashmir is June through October, December and January for snow.

Srinagar– A Romantic Sojourn

Honeymoon is a time for the newlyweds to enjoy each moment of togetherness. Srinagar is a city that embodies romance and beauty. It’s a great North Indian honeymoon location and a world famous tourist spot. A city of beautiful landscapes and abundant natural beauty, it is also famous for the Dal lake with its resplendent shikaras or the house boats. A ride across the scenic Dal lake along with your beloved with the majestic snow clad Himalayas in the backdrop will make this trip an enjoyable one. The mughal gardens are a fine example of Mughal style of architecture and a must see place. The other not to be missed attractions include the Shankaryacharya temple, Jama masjid, Dastgir Sahib and the Nagin lake. Do visit the local bazaar for a shopping spree. The pashmina shawls here are world famous.

Pahalgam -The Valley of Shepherds

At Pehelgam, the Valley of Shepherds, nature at its fines stretches out in all directions. This hilly terrain is famous for its rich vegetation. If you and your better half love to indulge in adventure sports and trekking opportunities then this is the place for you. Walk hand in hand with your beloved in the backdrop of its breathtaking meadows and natural landscapes. A visit to the Baisarn and Tulian lakes, Betab and Aru valleys will enchant you.

Picturesque Gulmarg

Nestled atop soaring mountains, Gulmarg is a picturesque meadow of flowers that entices you. Enjoy a pony ride or Gondola ride to Khillamarg. Do buy the Gondola (cable car) ride tickets from Srinagar or you may end up waiting in long queues at Gulmarg. Plan a night stay here to enjoy this hill station that offers excellent skiing opportunities. If you are not into skiing you may still want to take the Gondola ride that will whisk you more than 13,000 feet up Mount Apharwat for outstanding views.

Scenic Sonamarg

Located on the Srinagar- Ladakh Highway, Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold, is famous for its Thajiwas Glacier. Abundant with beautiful flowers in an array of colours, Sonamarg is famous for its trekking routes which pass through many other tourist spots such as Vishansar and Gangabal lakes. A number of rivers have their confluence at Sonamarg. Many bollywood movies have been shot here so many place might be déjà vu for you. Do dig into the local cuisine at small eateries along the highway.
