Red lips were seen on runways, in the movies and almost everywhere else we looked. Red is the traditional colour for Indian weddings and it will never eva’ go out of fashion! So do expect to see red in mattes, gloss, true reds, deep scarlet or even the semi-glossy winey hues. If you like orange, go in for burnt orange-red. For softer lips, choose glossy peaches but make sure you do the eyes in a metallic, smoky manner.

Orange is the new pink…(or wait, was it the new black?)

We recommend orange nail polish, orange eye shadow (if you dare!) and a red lipstick with an orange base. Orange accessories in the form of bags, potlis, shoes etc will work well too.

Cat Eyes Hypnotize….

Autumn and winter 2014 are all about eyelashes and brows. Full brows are very much in vogue, but that does not mean you have an unkempt look. Make sure you tweeze or pull out the extra hair. Full eyelashes and full eyebrows will give you all the drama you need for being the ooh-la-la bride.

Cat eyes will give you a dramatic, edgy and futuristic look. You can twist the traditional upward sloping cat eye with downward sloping wings on the corner of the eyes and use silvery blue eye shadows for that ‘Oh My!’ look.

Black eyeliner is also a must-have. We recommend CoverGirl’s Liquiline Blast kit. It goes on smoothly like a pencil and is long lasting as well. As stated before, apply the metallic eye shadow to the lid to contour and follow up with the liner.

Don’t Forget The Blush

Going without a blush is a strict no-no this season. Do not forget to apply shimmery highlights to your cheeks. (You could also perk up your cheeks with blushes in pinks, reds, oranges or peaches).

The well-‘braid’ bride

Fall 2014 is all about braids. Braids were seen on the runways and it is but natural that Indian bridal makeup trends will depict them as well. Sleek and simple hairdos with braids woven in are extremely trendy this year.
