Trends In Indo Western Fusion Bridal Wear

Brides looking for a ‘hatke’ look in their weddings can opt for the Indo western fusion look. Many designers including Manish Malhotra, JJ Valaya etc have experimented with fusion wear that combines the elements of East and West. Indo western wear is perfect for NRI brides or for brides getting married outside India. These dresses could be in the form of traditional Indian wear  but may implement innovative western styling. Alternatively, western gowns can be embellished with Indian motifs, embroidery patterns, fabrics etc.

Attire that touches modernity all the while being ethnic (and in between western and Indian dresses) can be described as Indo western. There is a creative usage of materials, cuts and styles in these bridal wedding dresses. Younger brides wanting to look classy and elegant can opt for the Indo western lehengas or gowns. These dresses suit the dusky complexion and also perfectly complement the Indian body type.

Many designers have experimented with the styles and textures of Indian and western wear. As a result there are many combinations that you can experiment with for a unique look on the Wedding Day. For example; Sarees can be draped in the manner of Grecian dresses or short embroidered jackets can be teamed with duppatas having Indian motifs and bright colours. Designer embellished kurtas can also paired with long skirts or lehengas and long flowing skirts can be teamed with cholis in halter styles.

Fusion dresses and accessories

Accessories are very important for enhancing the fusion look. Brides can choose clutches, potlis, etc with Kundan work and silver jewellery. Embroidered mojris (shoes) can also suit the ethnic-western look very well.  Earrings, kadas, necklaces and anklets can all be customized to suit the Indian western fusion.
