Bridal Eyebrows- 5 Ways To Shape Them Right!

By  |

So now that your wedding venue is ready to host your big day and your bridal wear has been picked out, let’s talk about your face. In particular, your eyebrows. Medically speaking, your eyebrows help prevent sweat and anything else from entering your eyes and of course, they play an important role when it comes to expressing a range of emotions too. Here’s another fun fact– the presence of well-defined eyebrows has always been viewed as a sign of power. The Egyptians loved a prominent well arched eyebrow whereas the Greeks loved their uni-brow.

Take a look at changing fashion trends across the decades and you’ll also notice that the way women wore and styled their eyebrows has also evolved simultaneously. Simply put-fashion pundits have always considered the humble eyebrow to be an important aspect of an attractive face.  We’ve got 5 tips to help you put your best  bridal eyebrows forward on your big day:

1. Pick out a Hair Removal Treatment Which Suits Your Skin

There are many methods you can adopt for shaping your eyebrows. Threading and tweezing are the most popular hair removal methods suggested by beauticians because the eyebrows can be perfectly shaped here. Unless you are certain that waxing is agreeable with your skin, we don’t recommend using wax strips to shape your eyebrows as the skin near the eye tends to be thinner and more sensitive to pain. DIY eyebrow shaping kits are also available online and promise to give the same results as a trip to the parlour!

2. Understand their Natural Shape

One of the best ways to shape your bridal eyebrows is simply by getting the extra hair growth removed without disturbing the natural shape of the eyebrow itself. This gives your face a clean neat look and will also beautifully highlight any eyeshadow or other eye makeup you wear. We do not recommend making the eyebrow flat entirely but lifting it slightly in the centre so as to give it an enhanced shape.

3. Consider Your Facial Structure

While focusing on good eyebrows is important, you also shouldn’t make that the singular highlight of your face. Well-groomed eyebrows must go hand in hand with your facial features and for that, you need to analyse your facial structure before picking out an eyebrow shape. A soft face with delicate looks would look even more gorgeous with a thin brow whereas a face with a prominent jaw would look elegant with a thick, fuller brow.

4. Fill Out Gaps

If you were born with thick well set eyebrows, consider yourself lucky. But if you’ve had thin eyebrows all your life, there’s no reason why you can’t use a cosmetic or two to make them appear darker and more prominent. A good eyebrow pencil is still the age old preferred cosmetic tool to use in this case but if you would like to try something specifically meant just for good looking eyebrows, then eyebrow gel is the next safest bet. Don’t forget to go with a gel that matches the natural colour of your  bridal eyebrows and always use an application brush.

5. Dress Them Right!

Did you know that there were makeup products for your bridal eyebrows too? Well, besides eyebrow pencils, there’s also eyebrow mascara which helps keep your eyebrow hair extra tidy, just so that they are set properly. Up for some experimentation? Then, how about if we told you that you can get not just your head hair but also your eyebrow hair coloured? Just make sure that the shade you pick out for your eyebrows is a lighter shade of colour when compared to your hair.  This way your brows will complement your mane beautifully.
