Although, these might not be considered as very serious problems; they can cause extreme discomfort. They may even affect your day to day activities such as walking, exercising, doing chores etc. It is due to these reasons that feet-care is so important. This way, these chronic diseases can be easily cured and prevented.

As a bride, it is even more important to keep one’s feet in excellent condition. There are many rituals in Indian weddings that require the bride to go bare feet. During such rituals at times, the bride’s feet are bound to be noticed by one and all.

  • Start by wearing the correct shoe size. Most shoe stores have a size measurement table. Find out your size using the tools available in the stores. Buy shoes that are exactly your size. Sometimes, we end up buying a size too large because we love its design which might not be available in the right size. Trying to make it fit using insoles is a bad idea that can affect the feet negatively.
  • Give your feet the much needed air. For most of the day they are trapped in footwear. In winters, there is that extra layer of socks. So, at the end of the day try and keep them open and dry.

  • Cleaning in between the toes can also ensure healthy and odor free feet. It will also reduce the chances of fungal growth that can lead to many complications and problems.
  • Also, walking on grass is recommended by experts as it is a stress buster and generally known to be very beneficial for blood circulation.
  • Using foot scraper and cuticle remover will help keep the feet smooth.
  • Wearing slippers indoors will protect them from dirt and sharp objects. A light massage just before you sleep can offer  much needed relief.
  • There are many pedicure kits available in the market. They come with detailed instructions. Just follow them to keep your feet supple and healthy.
  • Pumice stone is an excellent remedy to get rid of dead skin. It lasts long and doesn’t cost much either.
  • During winters it’s very important to apply generous amount of moisturizer. This is even more important after a hot shower.
  • Don’t forget to remove chipped or washed off nail polish. Old nail polish on the feet give them a very garish look.
  • Do not wear socks or footwear immediately after applying cream. Let the cream sink in the skin and dry off before covering your feet.
  • For a stink free feet, soak them in warm water with a drop or two of vinegar for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash this off with a mild soap and apply foot care cream. Leave your feet open after this treatment.
  • Lightly massage your feet with your hands at the end of each day to relieve the stress.
