However, there are many home made and all-natural remedies that can help you get a clear, blemish-free skin for this special occasion. Let us discuss some of these:

  1. Honey – Honey has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. You can take honey each morning on an empty stomach with warm water and lemon juice for its cleansing effects. Additionally you can make a mask of 1 teaspoon honey mixed with a teaspoon of powdered cinnamon (or powdered nutmeg). This can be applied all over the face and washed off after 20 minutes to reduce acne scarring and blemishes. Follow this homemade remedy for acne twice a week.

6.     Epsom salts- A bath mixed with Epsom salts can be used for soaking for those having acne on their back, shoulders and hips.

7.   Toner- A home based toner containing apple cider vinegar mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio can be applied prior to bedtime to prevent new pimples. ACV is quite acidic, so ensure that you dilute it well.

sebum

Acne mainly occurs due to overactive sebaceous glands contained deep inside our skin. The reason behind these overactive glands is either hormonal or hereditary. Junk, processed and sugary food stuff can also trigger excess sebum production. The sebum has no place to go, but through the pores. Overtime, these pores get clogged with dried sebum, dirt and hair follicles. Bacteria in the pores can cause an infection and redness eventually leading to acne or pimples.

It is essential that those prone to acne follow a good diet consisting of fruits and vegetables. One must also drink plenty of water to help clear the pores. Moderate exercise along with aforementioned home remedies for acne can help you glow on your wedding day.
