Arsh and Balraj are fast becoming one of our favourite couples here on weddingsOnline India. First, we had presented their famous and very viral flash mob proposal video. Then, a few months down the line, we presented their real Indian wedding story here. This time round, they have, very graciously, offered to share their Malaysia Honeymoon planning tips for other newlyweds. So without further delay, we will let Arsh take it forward from here:

Place we visited: Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Why we chose Malaysia Honeymoon?  Balraj and I  wanted  a place which had peaceful beaches for  relaxation as well as a vibrant night life for enjoyment. Thus, Langkawi offered us beautiful beaches for a romantic getaway while Kuala Lumpur was apt for the latter.  In general, we chose Malaysia for its fascinating sights and attractions. Malaysian Airlines provides a very comfortable journey from India to Malaysia. The inflight service was really nice and the staff was very courteous.

First stop Langkawi: Langkawi is Malaysia’s most popular tropical island that encompasses scenic jungles, hills & sun-drenched beaches. The island has a lot of places to checkout and there are  eating joints aplenty .

We chose Berjaya resort & hotel for our stay. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was paradise! Berjaya is a beautiful 5 star hotel that is spread over 173 acres. It has 424 chalets over the sea and in the lush jungle. The rooms were spacious and decked with all the comfort you need for a beautiful vacation. The whole resort is hidden around a rainforest, with a panoramic view of the sea. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service is also quite good. Do opt for this resort  if you want to relax and enjoy a tropical paradise experience!

Few places to check out before you get off the island:

Langkawi Cable Car: Just 3 minutes from the Berjaya resort; the cable car station is located at the Oriental Village. These cable cars take visitors all the way up to Mt. Chincang, Langkawi’s second highest peak. The view from the top is just fantastic and the wind literally blows you away!

Eagle Square

There is a giant red eagle statue permanently suspended in mid-flight at the Eagle Square. It is a great place to take a stroll as the sea breeze gently caresses your face.

Second stop Kuala Lumpur

We spent 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur and the city gives the visitors an opportunity to witness the mix of rich culture & modern infrastructure. We explored Kuala Lumpur as much as possible and the food was delicious, with plenty  of shopping facilities.

We stayed at Hotel Sunway Putra. They have around 620 rooms and a fabulous customer service. The view of the city was astounding. We had a great experience at this hotel. It is just next to a metro station so you can commute very easily. The fitness center and the swimming pool are really good. If you stay at this Hotel, choose your room wisely as only a few set of rooms have a good view of the Petronas Tower.

Few places to check out in KL:

Petronas Tower

Petronas was once the tallest building in the world. It still stands strong and it was an amazing experience to view the city from the top of the building. You can buy the tickets to visit the bridge on the 42nd floor and the 89th floor as well.

Menara Kuala Lumpur

Menara KL is the fifth tallest telecommunication tower in the world and the tallest in Southeast Asia. They have a really cool & expensive revolving restaurant with a panoramic view of the city on the 90th Floor. For a small fee for the ticket, one can spend a good time on the 90th floor provided it’s not all cloudy. There are many more places to checkout in KL and the city is beautiful.

Last stop Genting Highlands or ‘The City of Entertainment’

Genting, is a hill station resort near Kuala Lumpur city. It takes around one hour by car from Kuala Lumpur to Genting and you can also go by the cable car called Genting Skyway. We chose the Skyway and it was a really nice 3.38 km journey flying over the trees.

We stayed at the First World Hotel, which is one of the world’s largest hotels, with more than 6000 rooms. This place is packed with entertainment. From rides to waterpark and from gaming zones to casinos, you will find everything here under one roof. We had a great time at the amusement park and enjoyed the variety of food available. You will see a lot of serious faces once you enter the Casino unless someone had won something!
