Our supplier spotlight this month is on Bhaven Jani. Bhaven is a travel, fashion and creative wedding photographer. He has recently won awards at the ‘Picture Perfect Delhi’ photo contest organized by the Delhi government. Here is more about Bhaven:

1.      Please tell us a bit about yourself.
I was in the corporate field for around 10 years when I felt the need to take up photography on a full time basis. This decision was driven both by passion and interest for this field. Now I am a full time fashion, travel and wedding photographer.

2.      How long have you been in this field?
I have been in this field for more than two years now.
3.      Any particular cities that you cover?
I am based in Delhi, so I usually cover weddings in the NCR region. I have also been receiving many requests for destination weddings. These will give me a chance to fulfill my interests in travel photography as well as weddings.
4.      How many weddings per year do you cover?
I do around 8-10 weddings annually and plan to increase this number.
5.      What is your style of photography?

I primarily do Candid & Creative Wedding photography. This is the emerging global trend and most modern couples in India are on the lookout for interesting and engaging photos beyond the regular stage shots. Along with my team of photographers & videographers, I cover the complete event to provide a comprehensive set of images.

I work in front of the scenes as well as behind it: capturing the dance sequence at the Sangeet and Mehendi, capturing the regular couple shots as well as the candid expressions on everyone’s face, the elusive glances between the bride & groom assuming no one will notice them, the bride’s father giving last minute orders to ensure the flowers are in place, the uncles and aunts chitchatting etc. All this is captured in a creative and colorful manner, so that the couple wishes the album never ends!

6.      Please tell our readers a bit about post processing and album designing techniques you use.
I do not believe in post processing much since all wedding photographs should be candid and un-posed for- only that can help one capture the essence of the day and create lasting memories. I feel the prints should also be natural so I believe in limited post-processing. Many clients request for digital delivery since they want to put up their photographs on Facebook and other places online. So, that is what we do. I also recommend places to get albums printed, if anyone requests for the same.
7.      Tell us about the awards you received recently….
Two of my images won the awards at the government organized ‘Picture Perfect Delhi’ photo contest. These were put up on display at Central Park, Connaught Place on 24th Feb. Hon.Chief Minister Sheila Dixit was the chief guest and noted photographer Mr. Raghu Rai was the guest of honor.

8.      What is your advice to brides and grooms? Any particular colors, light settings or venue they need to choose for great pictures?
Please choose your wedding photographer well and spend time in the process. Also give time to the professional to actually take shots of important rituals as well as details like where the bride got ready etc; this can help you write your wedding story and also help you create everlasting memories of the occasion. Other than that, I believe that Indian dresses are already very vibrant and colorful; so there is no need for choosing any specific colors.
9.      What is the best way for brides/grooms to contact you?
They can contact me via my Facebook page or my website .
